Foot Skin Surgery

Concerned about a skin lesion or troublesome area on your foot?

We can assess the problem, explain your options and recommend the most appropriate next step.

Our foot skin surgery service includes assessment, biopsy and minor surgical procedures, carried out at The Vale Clinic in Wokingham.

What We Can Help With

Some skin lesions on the foot can become painful, troublesome or difficult to identify. We can assess the area and discuss whether monitoring, treatment, biopsy or removal may be appropriate.

  • Skin lesions and lumps on the foot
  • Painful or troublesome corns
  • Verrucas requiring surgical treatment
  • Skin lesions that have changed or require further assessment
  • Superficial foreign bodies
  • Nail and surrounding skin problems requiring more complex surgery

Assessment Comes First

Not every skin concern needs surgery.

Your first appointment is an assessment so we can examine the area, discuss your symptoms and medical history, and explain the most appropriate next step.  Depending on what we find, this may include treatment, biopsy, monitoring or referral for further investigation.

Your Clinician

Your assessment and treatment will be led by Ronke Tinker, Clinical Director and HCPC-registered Podiatrist, who holds the Royal College of Podiatry Certificate of Competence in Skin Surgery.

How It Works

1. Assessment

We carefully assess the area and discuss your symptoms, medical history and treatment options. If surgery is appropriate, we will explain the procedure, expected recovery and any potential risks.

2. Treatment

Procedures are carried out in-clinic under local anaesthetic to numb the area. You will be given clear aftercare advice and information about what to expect during recovery.

3. Laboratory Analysis

Tissue removed during skin surgery is sent to a specialist laboratory for histological examination. This helps confirm the nature of the tissue and whether any further investigation or treatment is required.

4. Results & Follow-Up

Once your laboratory results are available, we’ll discuss them with you and advise you of any further care required. Where appropriate, we can arrange or recommend referral for further investigation.

Why We Send Tissue for Laboratory Analysis

When tissue is removed during a skin surgery procedure, we send it for specialist histological examination. This provides additional information about the tissue removed and can help identify whether any further investigation or treatment is needed.
